June 14, 2013: The Chumps' farewell show

City Life, Dead Space, Savage Pinks and the Slizz came along for the ride.
The photos and (especially) the videos are out of focus, shaky and scruffy...but it was impossible for me to stand still.
I hope that despite the technical shortcomings, you'll get a sense of what an insanely good night of rock and roll that was.
The Chumps kicked it out to a packed house for their last show. One of the best nights of my life...

The Chumps are dead... Long live THE CHUMPS!!!

The Book of Chumps

This is a slideshow of the "Book of Chumps", a zine that Richard Lynn and I put together for The Chumps, one of the greatest rock and roll bands of all time, on the occasion of their last show (on June 14, 2013 at the Legendary White Swan).

We printed 60 copies of the zine on 11" x 17" paper in half-fold format. There are some photos that are sideways, but since that's how they were formatted on the zine, I decided not to change the orientation for the slideshow.

Bill Jeffery, Marisa Pool and Alfie Rabago put on a group art show @Rio Rita. Go check it out!

Later that night, The Chumps and Manikin (a band called Free Beer opened the show, but I didn't take any pictures of them) put on a group rock show @29th St. Ballroom.

September 16, 2011: First Comes Chumps, then comes Flesh Lights...

Good start to the evening with my beloved Chumps @Trailer Space. Then it was on to the Flesh Lights record release show @29th St. Ballroom with great sets by Creamers, Dead Space, Wiccans, Bad Sports and the aforementioned Flesh Lights!

After the slideshow, you'll see videos of the Chumps ("What You Need", "Punch Mama", "I Do the Things I Do"), Bad Sports ("Can't Stay" and "On Video"/"Face Like That") and Flesh Lights (I need to ask Max for the title).

March 23, 2011: Hugh Cornwell w/the Chumps

Hugh Cornwell of the Stranglers played a free show at Lovejoy's. The Chumps opened. It was pretty cool.

Jan. 8, 2011: Free Week Saturday

Last day of my free week @Beerland and @Emo's. I'd never seen Coma in Algiers before and they were a very nice surprise! ELVIS was as unsettling as always, and that's a good thing. The Chumps killed it at Emo's to put a nice finish to the proceedings!
